It is really so nice to have shibbloeth as an axis of acceptance an understanding. Join our cult we say, that we may know who you are, and trust you.

It used to be the holy communion in one or two kinds.

Then is was reason, to carried forward at all costs.

Then nationalism.

You must be a nation we screamed at Africa and again. You must be a nation even though you never have been, and even if that means we et a nice dictator in charge. You must be a nation because then we will understand you----

And then - everyone had to join u to the free market - privatize we cried in the name of freedom, in the name of globalization, that we might know who you are.

and now of course we have to: Democratize as what ever cost. If you cheat, in the election that does not really matter so long as you include those who you defrauded in the government.

Have an election we say and either way you win - for if you cheat we will bully the opposition into accepting a place in government (Kenya, Zimbawe, and quite possibly Afghanistan).

Perhaps though the difference is now we have added an extra belief . All must belief in global warming (in is fair enough the the clearness of the science) but more than that they must belief in it in our way. That is, they must act according to what we demand - and do so even if amongst ourselves we have no agreement, save for what hey ought to do.

The power of the west has been as still is the creation of these paradigms, these shibbloeths to orchestrate a world communion, and we will know when that power is broken, when other shibbloeths other communion,s or no communion triumph....
